I bring to you the music review for the much anticipated Red Chillies Entertainment production Billu Barber which stars Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta in the lead. Shah Rukh Khan does a special guest appearance in this film. Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kappoor and Deepika Padukone are in item numbers. The lyrics are done by a number of lyricist mainly consisting of Gulzar. The music score is done by Pritam.
Marjaani
This is my favourite track along with Love Mere Hit Hit! What can I say about this song. Lyrics are great and the music is fantastic. The punjabi feel with the commercial content is just great. The visualisation will be awesome as we have seen by the promo. SRK and Kareena know how to make the audience go crazy with their item numbers! The chorus really does stand out and let me tell you, it takes you on another level. Pritam has hit it right with this song. Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan bring you what in my opinion is the song of the year! Gulzar does well with the lyrics and again needs praise for this. This song is a definite chartbuster with the audience! I also love the remixes to the song too!
Love Mera Hit Hit
I love this song just as much as Marjaani! Again Pritam gets this song right too! The lyrics are great and the music is foot tapping. I would love dancing to this and this will be big in the clubs. I love the visualisation and SRK and Deepika will fire up the screens with this song that has a futuristic feel to it. The chorus is amazing and even the english lyrics are done well. Neeraj Shridhar and Tulsi Kumar are excellent in this song and bring up the value of the album. Ashish Pundit and Mayur Puri do a mindblowing job with the lyrics. This song is a definite chartbuster too and it will be big in the clubs and parties! This song is a Hit Hit!!!
You Get Me Rocking and Reeling
This is a song that got me hooked upon later and not within the first hear. I have to say this song will do great and what can one expect when the visualisations come out? Priyanka Chopra and SRK will definitely make this song a chartbuster! The lyrics of this song is also good and they make sense, even with the english lyrics! I love the chorus of the song. Neeraj does well with this song to after a great Love Mera Hit Hit! Sayeed Quadri brings good lyrics along with the song. Once again, Pritam creates a great music score! This song will end up bring a chartbuster with the audience.
Ae Aa O
This song is good and has a great feel to it! It is about how one should think about themselves and look ahead. I love that about the song! It is a song that will look at the best of us and I love that. I guess this song shows the introduction of Sahir Khan (SRK) in the film and hence you appreciate the music score for what it is. Pritam does well with this. KK is excellent with this song and doesn't dissappoint. Rani Mazumder and Suraj do excellent in complimenting KK! The lyrics by Neeraj Sridhar is once again top notch! If we assume this song goes with the narrative of the film then it should do well and will end up bring an anthem for those that want to be successful and look out for themselves in a non-egoistic way! This song might find itself becoming a chartbuster.
Jaoon Kahan
I love the way this song starts and the music touches the heart. This song is picturised on Irrfan Khan and this song will go with the narrative of the film. It is about an ordinary man's feelings and Sayeed Quadri does an excellent job in creating that mood. The singer is none other than the legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and he excels with this song. He brings it onto another level. Pritam is excellent with music and does excellent. It is a song that everyone will listen to on their own and contemplate on. The visualisation for this song will definitely make this song much better. It will do with the audience!
Billoo Bhayankar
This song brings you a village feel and this is what makes this track work. If it wasn't for the ordinary and traditional music and the ordinary lyrics it would not have worked. Pritam does excel with this and deserves praise for this song! Gulzar is amazing and brings the lyrics on another level with the village feel to it! I cannot wait to see the picturisation on this, Irrfan Khan will surely bring a few smiles with this song! Ajay Jhingaran, Raghuveer and Kalpana all make this song a special one! This song does not dissapoint and it is catchy! This might become a surprise as a chartbuster!
Khudaya Khair
This is one song which I love and to be honest, it is simple and that is what makes it special! This song is fully in hindi. I enjoy this song. Soham brings you into a world where dreams are meant to be fulfilled and what I guess is about movies. The visualisation will be good as it shows Lara thinking and SRK on a swing and riding a bike. So this should be a great hit! Gulzar does well with the lyrics and Pritam does well the music. The chorus is excellent and is the same that is used in You Get Me Rocking and Reeling! I love it and I think Pritam does excellent with that! This song compliments the album really well!
Conclusion
The songs are all great and the remixes go well with the songs. This music album is completely commercial and there is something for everyone in this excellent album! Pritam does well and of course, one is hoping that he has originally created the music and has not copied from somewhere else. The lyrics all make sense and this is one high point with a film that is known to have item numbers!
Depending on who you are, you will find atleast one good track in this album. I enjoy the album altogether and even the remixes. Regarding the remixes to the songs, some people may not like it but I enjoyed them! Obviosuly, this depends on who you are but as a young guy, I love remixes aslong as they sound great and do not steal the greatness of the original song.

For just the original songs 4/5! For the complete album including the remix then 3.5/5! Everyone go and buy this album because it is worth it and SRK will create fire once again on the music charts after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi!!!
