The new name for 'Guest Topics' is Rahul's OffBeat Fun

Welcome to OffBea
t Fun! I will like to take this opportunity to thank all that voted for OffBeat Fun to be a regular feature and even those that said no or they were not sure. Each vote is greatly appreciated by me!

OffBeat Fun is light-hearted fun and al
l that I say is said in humour and should not be taken seriously. So I will write about whatever catches my eye, I will tell you my view on it, sometimes it may be serious but somehow I will try and make it serious but fun! So look out for latest Bollywood news, which not alot of us get to know! With that news, I tell you what my view on it is! So please I do not want to cause offense and take this as an opportunity to apologise!

Also most of all, do not worry my novel and its related topics still comes FIRST! However, this blog needed something new so we have

Rahul's OffBeat Fun: A Perfect Animal?



Hello Readers,

The first OffBeat Fun was about the "great" blog of Big B...so what is the second one going to be about? We all know that as soon as Big B made his remark about Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), someone had to divert the attention and it was none other than the 'Perfectionist' Aamir Khan. Who told the world that his caretaker's dog was called Shahrukh! Obviously, you can imagine the media, it went crazy and SRKs response, he took it as a joke and did not think much of it. However he made the statement "Actors should stick to acting.' Totally agree there. Before I start, I like Aamir so I will not be as harsh as I was with Big B!


Aamir ji, this dog called Shahrukh has been licking your smelly feet, eating biscuits from your dirty hands and you was going to give it a bath. I do wonder if you opt to sleep with the dog instead of your wife? Please you should have made that clear in your blog. Aamir, I do wonder did you cause this controversy because your nephew is making his debut in Bollywood? The fact that you cause a controversy every time a film of yours is about to release? If it is then that is just cheap and disgusting for an actor of your status.

Why compare yourself to Shah Rukh with the number business? The whole world regards SRK as number one but you are given a lot of respect for Hindi cinema lovers. You both do good cinema and if SRK is more of a superstar than an actor then you definitely are more of an actor than a superstar. However, to be a superstar of SRKs status you have to be media-friendly. However, after Chak De India, I think it safe to say that SRK has become a SuperActor more than a SuperStar!

Why do you only want the media around you when a film of yours is about to release?
You do not go to awards but value the Oscars. A piece of advise Aamir, in order to get more fans you should get over this self-made ban. SRK was better in DDLJ (the film is still running in its 13th year) than you was in Rangeela. Stop being a spoilt child and get yourself at the Filmfare Awards. Our industry has give you everything yet you value Oscar awards more? Seriously, sort out your attitude because it stinks.

I always hear that you are a 'Perfectionist' where the hell did you get that tag from? Oh yeah, it was Big B who said you was perfect in Lagaan. Seriously anything would be perfect for Big B after we seen what films he does (Aag, Cheeni Kum etc) so you should get rid of that. Just check out your acting in Fanaa it was terrible. Kajol overshadowed you, I am not talking about your height here, I am on about the acting!

Now with the last blog you made 'Settlers of Panchgani' your entry was far from perfect. Your fans did not like what you said regarding SRK... calling a dog Shahrukh can be seen offensively in India but then again you must always think with an American mind, you know with all the Oscars on your mind!

So now you have a dog, I want to have an animal too. Since you are known as a perfectionist, I should follow and do what you do. After all, I want to be known as a perfectionist just like yourself. So I thought the best way to honour an animal would be to name it...Aamir ! Now the only problem is I need to think of the right animal. This is going to be tough decision to make...

Well, I just went to see my friend and they showed me an animal that would be perfect! I must say it will be perfect. At the moment, I have fed it flies and it does really cool stunts, trust me they are cool. I also have given it a wash and also given it a same hairstyle like yours. The cool stunt that he does is amazing (I hear you are doing stunts for Ghajini), it changes colour! How cool is that? It matches the attitude you have doesn't it? No I am not saying you are disgusting, slimy, a reptile etc.


So now I have a lizard called Aamir. It definitely is a Perfectionist and it also believes that it should not attend the 'Lizfare Awards' and instead only believes in getting the 'Lizcars'! Looks like you both are very similar because you do not attend the Bollywood award functions like the Filmfare Awards but you do believe in getting the Oscars even though you don't believe in getting awards!

Jokes aside, I rate you for being an excellent actor and I don't mean offense as for me you are my second favourite actor! I wish you a speedy recovery from your injury but please let's leave out the controversies! Also for any of my readers do take it with humour as I DO have huge respect for Aamir as an actor! You do not need them Aamir and please accept that SRK is the number one actor and that he is King of Bollywood!



Also Happy Birthday to Marwa aka Mrs Shah Rukh Khan! I wish you all the best and hope that you have everlasting happiness and success in life. Have a great day and this blog entry is dedicated to you because you love Aamir so much and wanted me to do this blog entry before! I hope you like Aamir's picture.

Do we love once or many times?

Hey Readers,

Hope you are all good! What a week it has been! Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan both being in the news for their blogs! It is quite good for us bloggers because they give us so much to write! Also, the IPL (Indian Premier League) is getting more interesting and I really hope the Kolkata Knight Riders win the tournament!

The topic today is simple and it is going to be short and sweet! I had to deal with this question while writing Love is Complicated.

I believe that we can love many times, but true love only happens once. This is the basis of my novel, as we all know it is a battle between knowing what is the difference between love and true love.

Today, society accepts relationships more openly than before, say around 100 years ago. Most of us will or have probably gone through a series of 'love' relationships or phases before we get to our true love or just realise who our true love is.

Whenever someone tells me you cannot love more than once but you can be attracted to so many people, then what is attraction? When we see someone that we find appealing to the eyes, we get attracted to that beauty, so what is that? It is attraction and it is a type of love. Watch Mani Ratnams' Dil Se, it is brilliant as it portrays the seven shades of love and attraction is a shade!

For me to answer how do you know who your true love is? Well, my readers I am not going to tell you that because that is what my novel will tell you! So Love is Complicated is a journey from love to true love as well as sacrifice!

ANNOUNCEMENT: After the success of the first Guest Topic which was Big B has a blog....my opinion? Guest Topics will now be a regular feature of this blog due to lovely people voting yes on the poll! I want all my readers to now get to know what my intake on things are outside my novel. So it may be controversial but I guarantee entertainment for you all!

Guest Topic: Big B has a blog...my opinion?


Hello Readers,

Hope you are all good!  I am loving the weather in England... it has been really good. I hope all the world has enjoyed the weather as much as we have in England.

I thought I should give this blog a bit of spice, so I now we will have our first guest topic. Our beloved Amitabh Bachchan who is lovingly known as Big B has started his own blog. I will be discussing my view of his blog. 

Recently he has attacked Shah Rukh Khan's (SRK) new show shortnamed "Paanchvi Pass' on Star TV and has criticised Khalid Mohammed's review of Bhootnath! Actually anybody that is speaking against Big B is facing his wrath. However, I am more annoyed by his comments on SRK, by calling his show 'Paanchvi Fail.'

However here is a personal note to Big B, possibly a reality check:

Big B you do know all and have done all I guess, so I remind you of who you were:
1) You know you was the better actor.
2) You know you was the better presenter.
3) You know that you used to bring in the viewers.
4) You know that your films used to be blockbusters because of your name.
5) You know that you are part of the first family of
Bollywood.
6) You know that you used to make a lot of money!
7) You used to be a politician who seemed to have believed in secularism.

Right take a breather everyone!!! right 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0

What a shame! Big B everything I mentioned was said in 'PAST' tense! Let's now start...

1) Who helped you get your first break in Bollywood for your second innings? Let's see... SRK! Remember Mohabbetein and K3G! Not only that but the media even hyped you up! Shouldn't your praise them?

2) Who is the best actor today in terms of critical and commercial success? Tough answer to call... I dont think so...it's SRK! You on the other hand, have had a great amount of flops in your second innings!

3) The best presenter today is SRK! His name sells and you do it cheaply by criticising him in your boring blog. You use the IBOS website which is obviously ran by Hindu fundamentalists who have something against muslim actors. It is a website that praises you as if you are a God and using it to criticise SRK is really low. Possibly this is why you were not that successful as a politician!

4) SRK brings in the world with the IPL, his tv shows and his movies...your KBC was mostly loved in India! SRK's new show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain is also competing against reality shows and the much-hyped cricket game the IPL! Let's remember India loves cricket. Your KBC did not have that much competition!

5) SRK gave two huge movies last year...Big B you had nothing last year...lets remember the Aag you had set to your own career.

6) Your films have flopped big time and your name doesn't hold as much value as before. Bhoothnath had to have SRKs name in to help. You gave a good performance sir, I felt the Big B from Mohabbetein had come back and then I remembered SRK was in the film...no wonder why you acted so well!

7) Your production company has flopped and you are a failed businessman. In fact, didn't Bollywood go into a recession due to your films of the 1980s, with your constant use of the 'Angry Young-man image?  On the other hand SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, successful in films, IPL (Kolkata Knight RIders), they are now venturing in tv programmes...whats going to be next for SRK...publications for books, household appliances etc. While SRK has been setting records for Bollywood since he gave his debut. Let us all remember Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, that started it all off and Bollywood has now become a booming Industry. 

8) Everyone knows you married Jaya who is an actress, your son is just about making a mark in bollywood and your daughter in law Aishwarya is an actress. Your son has struggled and is slowly unleashing is acting talents. Aishwarya she seems like she needs acting lessons and to me, she is like a bacteria ready to make an actor's career go mouldy (Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi). You have support in your family who all work in the film industry. While SRK by sheer hard work got in the industry and is keeping the industry going and himself going further as a brand. Like Bipasha said without SRK there is no Bollywood. 

9) You have had many scandals and we all know about the infidelity in your marriage. SRK is clean and hasn't had an affair and doesn't sleep around! A very loyal husband and father.

10) Your blog is boring for me...its full of difficult words and the common man probably doesn't understand what you say. You are like an arrogant, spoilt child who is using the thesaurus on microsoft word to make your blog sound professional. Your blog has really long and boring posts while, reading only one of many interviews of SRKs is a million times better and far more entertaining!

11) You have lost all dignity sir, I hope you apologise to SRK and I hope you learn how to write on your blog! Possibly try to keep the fans you have because they are decreasing day by day. Well atleast keep the respect that you do have with cinema lovers. One word for you sir is that in my opinion your blog is a huge 'FLOP'. So you have 'FLOPPED' once again!

Well...here I come to end of my little rant on Big B. This is actually a parody of Big B's blog, as you can tell I take cheap digs at him although they are the truth and obviously it is a really long post! These comments shouldn't be taken personally but should be taken with humour! Hope you have all had a laugh because I certainly did when I wrote this!

Changes of Character

Hello Readers,

How have you all been this week? Hopefully it has been good! I must say that it has been a busy week for me. Completed my courseworks and now it is concentration on exams! So I wish everyone who has exams the best of luck and that all of you achieve great success!

So the title...'Changes of character' what does that mean? Have a think about it as it is about the characteristics? So what characteristics make you the person that you are? Just think for a moment. Think of the characteristics that you have but others do not like and then think of the ones that people do like! 

In 'Love is Complicated' the characters are always developing as the story goes on. Whenever they face certain circumstances they change. They adapt to whatever is happening in their lives as we would. However like in the last post 'Past, Present and Future' it talks about how we should live in the present. So do my characters live in the present and then due to its circumstances change their characteristics.

When people change the way they are not in the looks but in their personality, you feel the effects.  Do you tell them that they have changed? Or do you stay quiet and do not tell them how you feel about it? It is tough right? Basically... nobody changes for anyone. 

Sometimes, you do not know that you have changed. However, it is upto you how to deal with it. Do you keep the change or do you undo the change? It depends on how you see it... do you change or do you just adapt to the way people think of you? Basically... people can adapt but find it difficult to change back to how they were.
